With version .54 and .55 beta, I added custom reports in the form of .xml definition files, LDAP authentication and granular control of BESUserAdminClient functions for Admin, Helpdesk, and Reporting roles. Now, with version .56, I've added another role: Self-service.
Self-Service allows you to set up the ability to have a BlackBerry user log into the BerryStats site with their AD credentials, then let them set their own device and activation passwords, resend servicebooks (you could set more, but I don't think I'd suggest it!)...etc. Not quite unlike a cellular provider.
As of today, I've not yet released it, but it should be available by late Wednesday 8/27/08.
Here's a screenshot of the roles configuration screen.
When a BES user logs into the website, they will be presented with a screen that has only two menu options: 'Home' and 'User'.
Under 'User' there will be one option: 'My BlackBerry'. This will present the user with a device overview screen with various statistics about their device. The 'User' menu on this screen will drop down and present them with a set of approved actions.
This is in beta, so it should work for you, but I urge you to let me know if it doesn't.
